Hello SAE Milwaukee Section Members,
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Dan Lentsch, and I’m the Milwaukee SAE Section Chairman.
I’m currently VP of Engineering for Composite Drivelines in West Allis. Some of my previous positions have been with Bosch, Erik Buell Racing, and Milwaukee Tool. I hold an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in engineering, both from Marquette University. I was president of the Marquette Racing FSAE team during my undergraduate years. Outside of SAE and work, my favorite things to do include endurance racing through Champ Car, boating on lake Michigan, and working out at the Milwaukee Athletic Club.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to meet most of you in person yet due to the unusual circumstances of the past year.I look forward to meeting you at a future event!
As we close out the 2020 year for SAE, I’d like to take a look back on what was a unique year. Virtually all in person events were cancelled or pushed out over a year due to the onset of COVID-19. We did our best to keep the board active, by having monthly virtual meetings. We also were able to host a socially distanced car cruise last summer.
Student night for 2020 was a bit different than normal. University teams created videos about their various projects, and we utilized an online ballot/voting system instead of the traditional in person presentations and voting. Congratulations to MSOE for their excellent video and thank you to Milwaukee Tool for being our Marque Sponsor for this event.
Looking forward to 2021, we are planning a number of exciting events. Our first event will be a presentation on the 2021 Ford Bronco at Boucher Ford in Menomonee Falls.
Feel free to contact me with suggestions for future events!
